What is the focus of the Documentation Improvement (CDI) Boot Camp
The CDI Boot Camp is a four–day educational experience that focuses on MS–DRGs and reimbursement under the IPPS; ICD–9–CM coding rules and regulations; medical record review and physician query techniques; and CDI program benchmarking and compliance initiatives. Conducted in a classroom setting, CDI specialists will learn the basic skills necessary for success in the profession. The CDI Boot Camp will also benefit hospitals with established CDI programs that need additional development.

Does the course require any previous experience or training?
No. Because of the fast-paced nature of this course, it is recommended (but not required) that participants have at least one year of experience working in a hospital. This course is taught on a basic to intermediate level.

How is the course taught?
The course is taught using a combination of lecture, class discussion, and hands-on exercises/case studies.
